HUNT SEAT Equitation is taught under CHA professional instruction, as are all Valley View riding programs. A separate Hunt Ring and barn, and specially schooled English horses are available to all girls, beginner to advanced. Classes are arranged according to riding ability and incorporated into every camper’s ranch program. Beginners learn basic English equitation first, such as how to post and ride under control at all gaits. Lessons in jumping begin first with ground poles, and then move up to low cavalettis and cross rails. As a rider gains confidence, she will start to practice taking her horse over fences in the ring. The challenge safely increases as the rider naturally progresses. Advanced English riders have the opportunity to take part in our “cross-country” field classes, jumping full courses of varying obstacle heights in the front field. We have capable horses for every level and temperament, or bring your own and enjoy a new companionship amid our mountain scenery.
